Overview of Layers
As the main organizational tool for drawings, LAYER can be used to group information by function and to enforce LINETYPE , COLOR and other standards.
The following settings can be controlled: the default color, default linetype and lineweight (LWEIGHT), visibility and brightness, modify and display objects with different layer properties in individual layout viewports.
You start each new drawing with a layer named 0. This layer 0 cannot be deleted or renamed for the following reasons:
- Every drawing has at least one layer
- It is a special layer that relates to controlling colors in blocks
