TEXTEVAL system variable
Function Description:
The TEXTEVAL system variable is used to control how to evaluate the text strings entered by TEXT or -TEXT.

System Variable Value:
0 : when prompting to enter text strings and attributes, all response are treated as literally.
1 : all text beginning with left bracket "(" or exclamation mark "!" will be treated as AutoLISP expressions, rather than non-text.
By default, all texts entered by TEXT command are treated as literally regardless settings of TEXTEVAL except executing this command completely by scripts or AutoLISP expressions. Under command prompts, -TEXT command follows settings of TEXTEVAL.
